The School of Life Sciences (Petroczi) is part of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing at Kingston University, which comprises of eight schools previously under three independent Faculties. This merger, in effect from August 2011, is aimed to foster interdisciplinary research and research informed teaching. Staff involved in doping-related research belong to the SEC Faculty’s Sport, Exercise, Nutrition and Public Health Research Group (http://sec.kingston.ac.uk/research/research-groups/senphrg/). The combined research expertise in this multidisciplinary research group spans a wide range of areas including the effect of sport, exercise and nutrition at the cellular and molecular level, and their contribution to health and well being, biomechanical, nutritional, physiological, pharmacological and psychological factors that affect human performance, and the influence of public health initiatives on human behaviour and vice versa.  The group has received funding in the past five years from a range of sources including the World Anti-Doping Agency, the Medical Research Council/the National Prevention Research Initiative Phase 4, Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, the  Economic and Social Research Council, The British Academy, The Department for Business Innovation & Skills (UK), GlaxoSmithKline and several other industry partners.

The School of Education (Hudson) in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education at Kingston University is consistently rated among the top education departments in the UK. The School of Education works closely with the Kingston Education Trust (KET) http://www.kingstoneducationaltrust.org/ which is a regional collaboration between the local authority (Kingston and Richmond , the local Further Education College and the University in Education and Training. KET is currently developing a free school to open in 2015. The School of Education is sole partner with nine NCTL Teaching Schools which provide hubs for local clusters in training, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) school-to-school support and research. The School of Education also has a wider partnership for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and CPD with 250 schools in the region which include primary, secondary, early years settings and special educational.  The School hosts the Institute for Child Centered Interprofessional Practice http://www.healthcare.ac.uk/schools/education/iccip/

Membership includes the British Education Research Association (BERA) and the European Education Research Association.
